Single Scoop: Ketria Arclight (Standard)
From the ashes of defeat and being tier 3, the Arclight Phoenix rises! Well, at least we hope so as Ikoria has brought us a ton of sweet new cards that could bring hope to the Arclight archetype!
Gameplan
We're still looking to go through our deck as quick as possible while throwing all of our Arclight Phoenix into the graveyard. The difference is now we have Rielle, the Everwise.
This card rewards us for discarding our own stuff which synergizes with Cathartic Reunion, The Royal Scions, and so on. The raw power of being able to draw 5 cards and discard two from Cathartic Reunion is enough value to make us more than happy. Rielle can also become quite the threat by herself as we fill our yard up with spells. Of course we don't expect her to stick around for too long as Rielle is a must kill threat. To prepare for it, we did pack a few copies of Fling to give us the reach we need as she can easily get to about eight to ten power. She also synergizes a lot with a new enchantment ....
Song of Creation is a lot of fun to play with as we can keep drawing cards for days as we have Goblin Electromancer to help reduce the cost of our spells but we're loaded with a ton of one to two cost spells. The dream is to curve into this with Rielle, the Everwise on board to discard our hand but draw all those cards right back! The toughest part with playing this card is knowing when to deploy it as sometimes the cards in your hand are just too good so keep that in mind.
Speaking of valuable spells, Blitz of the Thunder-Raptor feels amazing in this deck. This card scales and the fact that it can hit planeswalkers and exile is huge. Our deck folds to a single Narset, Parter of Veils and Izzet decks have had issues dealing with threats that have more than four toughness outside of casting Beacon Bolt but that was sorcery speed and couldn't hit planeswalkers. If your deck is loaded with cheap spells, this card is an automatic four of!

The deck feels right at home in a best of one meta but I think there were some serious issues I had with the deck after playing it a bit more. Our manabase is a bit painful with all of these shocklands just to add green for Song of Creation but it's entirely possible we can just shave the green and pack Ominous Seas and Yidaro, Wandering Monster for our closers. Yeah, we lose out on the silly amount of draw from Song of Creation but we don't have to worry about shocking ourselves in a format where Mono Red is running rampant. Here's what an updated list would look like
Ikora has brought us a ton of powerful new cards and I'm excited to play standard and see what new cards work their way into the meta!
As always, thanks for watching! See ya at the next one.
