Much Abrew: I Play Momir While My Opponents Play Brawl
Hello everyone, and welcome to another edition of Much Abrew About Nothing! As you probably know, I'm not the biggest Alchemy fan. But Wizards recently released an Alchemy card that got me in Ornate Imitations. Ornate Imitations is basically the Momir format but on a single card. For UG and X, you make a random creature for each mana value between 1 and X. In practice, this means that if we can get up to 10 mana (for example) and resolve Ornate Imitations, we'll make a random creature from each mana value from one up to eight! Our deck today is designed so our only realistic way to win is with the random creatures that Ornate Imitations offers. So, we ramp aggressively, find Ornate Imitations, and trust that our random creatures will be able to win us the game! Just like Momir, we could hit a bunch of bombs and run away with a victory, but we could also hit something like Phage the Untouchable that will lose us the game on the spot, which is part of the fun of playing Momir. Can our Ornate Imitations Momir deck beat our opponent's Brawl decks? Let's get to the video and find out!
