Momir, Mo-Problems!

It's always a blast to see if the RNG deities are with us so this week so we ran two leagues of Momir on MTG Arena! For those unfamiliar with how Momir works:

That's right, your deck is all lands and you randomly generate a threat based on the mana you pay at the cost of a card from your hand. That means when you get to six mana you may want to be weary of an autoloss in ...
$ 0.00 $ 0.00

The best abilities are in Red so keep your Mountain

$ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00 $ 0.00

But Momir has changed since it first came to Arena. It used to just be about getting to nine mana and winning with Zacama but now there are so many other nine drops. To be honest, I tried the game plan of hitting nine mana and all I got is Molderhulk. I've learned that the upside of playing a one or two drop is great if you can hit a mana accelerant or something that discards an opponent's card but the chances are so low that often I choose to just sit and do nothing until turn three. The best creatures sit at the seven drop slot. Here are a few power houses at the seven slot. Often I will just sit at the 7 slot and keep spamming seven drops.

Conclusion

If you're a fan of the crazy and wonky side of Magic then this format is going to be a blast! Kick back and pray that the odds are in your favor.
Thanks for watching and reading.

See you all soon!

Single Scoop: Aerith Joins Soul Sisters

Soul Sisters is a beloved archetype by many and thanks to Aerith, this deck is loaded with Ajani's Pridemate effects. Hopefully, she can outlast Standard better than she did with Sephiroth.
