Masterpiece Series: Kaladesh Inventions Cards and Info

Kaladesh

The Masterpiece Series is a new group of cards that will show up in booster packs of Standard legal sets. They are essentially the continuation of the Zendikar Expeditions (which have been retroactively added to the Masterpiece Series), and each block will have its own named series. For Kaladesh, the Masterpiece Series is called Kaladesh Inventions. The cards are premium foils and are reprints of some of the most powerful cards printed throughout Magic's history. Kaladesh Inventions are legal in any format where the original printing is legal. This means that even though these cards will come from Kaladesh boosters, they will not be legal in Standard unless their original printing is legal in Standard. They are extremely rare, showing up once in every 144 boosters.

Each card has a new exciting new art, and the cards also feature not only a new border, but also a new foiling process. There are 54 inventions total in the Kaladesh block; 30 in Kaladesh itself and another 24 in Aether Revolt. Each series in the Masterpiece Series will have its own theme, based around the theme of the block they are attached to. Since Kaladesh is an artifact-based plane, all of the Masterpieces from Kaladesh are artifacts. Kaladesh Inventions will be released on Magic Online as well as in paper, but on Magic Online they will not be redeemable and will not come from Kaladesh booster packs. They will be released in a special manner that has not yet been revealed.
