Historic 101: A Pact For Jund
Gameplan
It's finally time to show the world how generous we are as we give all of our opponents a sweet gift in Demonic Pact! Historic Anthology 4 has brought us Harmless Offering to do exactly that! After using all the beneficial modes on Demonic Pact, it's nice to hand off the "Lose the Game" option to our opponents. But what if we don't have Harmless Offering? Well, luckily that's where our Golgari cards come into play!
It's not a great feeling but sometimes a deal with demons can go awry and we have to have a backup plan! Maelstrom Pulse can target our own permanents if needed. If not that, we can use Vraska, Golgari Queen +2 to sacrifice the Pact to gain a life and draw a card. We even have Vraska, Relic Seeker to -3 and blow up the pact. Demonic Pact is a fun build around and having Golgari be at our core gives us a ton of exit plans when needed.
Conclusion
The deck performed quite well and we did what we came to do! We gifted opponents things while grinding out our opponents. I do think that we need more ways to win the game outside of Demonic Pact so maybe we're underutilizing red in our main deck. I did like cards like Klothys, God of Destiny and Tibalt, Cosmic Impostor so maybe we can just increase the number of Tibalts in our main deck to utilize the red. The deck's weak spots seem to be our ability to filter our draws and to close out games faster against aggro decks like Gruul, so we'll need to work on that!
