Commander Clash: The Return of Tom | S10 E16
Crim couldn't make this week's recording, but we've got a super special guest to take his spot: Clash alumni Tom Delia joins us for a game! Longtime viewers will remember Tom for his fondness of Lorwyn, aggressive decks, and a strong knack for navigating board states. Today's week is Anything Goes, so here's what we've got:
- Tom goes for Big Butts aka Treefolk Tribal led by Colfenor, the Last Yew
- Richard runs a "landbase" of only MDFCs, showing the true power of them led by Kenrith, the Returned King
- Seth is addicted to Boros, playing another aggressive deck, Spirit Reanimator, led by Quintorius, Field Historian
- Tomer shows the true power of the underrated archetype, Arcane Tribal, with the help of Kalamax, the Stormsire
We got some spice this game! Who will come out on top? Find out now on Commander Clash! But first, a quick reminder: if you like Commander Clash and other video content here on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel to keep up with the latest and greatest.

New Season House Bans
We didn't use any bans for this episode, obviously. We use these bans for our regular episodes though.
In addition to the official Commander ban list, we have a collection of house bans. This list changes with each season. For Season 10 we started with a clean slate and banned cards based on three loose criteria:
- Cards that were played too much last season.
- Cards that regularly caused games to revolve around them.
- Cards that are far out of the budget of the average viewer.
With this in mind, here is our new ban list for Season 10:
- Rhystic Study
- Mystic Remora
- Notion Thief
- Narset, Parter of Veils
- Hullbreacher
- Gaea's Cradle
- Mana Crypt
- Strip Mine
- MLD / Mass Mana Denial like Blood Moon
- Smothering Tithe
- Teferi's Protection
- Dockside Extortionist
- Necropotence
- Survival of the Fittest
So this is a major shakeup to our ban list. A lot of Commander Clash staples like Smothering Tithe, Rhystic Study, and Dockside Extortionist are out, and there no longer will be the threat of Notion Thief + Windfalls that dominated conversations.
However, there are some notable unbans: expensive cards like Wheel of Fortune are now allowed (for now). Plus for the first time in a long time, fast mana like Sol Ring is back on the table!
Our house bans are meant to encourage more entertaining games for you, the viewers, so let us know what you think of the new ban list! We'll be following all the feedback from the early episodes to see how you all are enjoying it.
What Are You Playing On?
We're playing Commander on a program called Magic Online. If you're interested in Magic Online then check out my guide to the program over here!
Next Week: Viewer Submitted Decks!
Last week we asked you, the viewers, to submit decks that you'd like to see us play on a future episode. We ended up getting hundreds of submissions, so thank you to everyone who shared a list with us! We've selected four of our favorites and we'll be showing them off next week!
