Commander Clash S4 Episode 11: Secret Santa! (Mistform Ultimus vs. Xenagos vs. Nazahn vs. Ludevic & Sidar Kondo)

Hello and welcome to Commander Clash, a video series where several MTGGoldfish contributors battle in a four player Commander game for fun and bragging rights. We originally planned to have this video out two weeks ago for the holidays and take this week off, but unfortunately technical difficulties kept this video in limbo until now, so consider this your belated holiday special! Let's see what we've got!

We've got some tried and true commanders duking it out with more oddball ones. Which will be victorious? Let's find out! And as usual, another quick reminder: if you like Commander Clash and other video content here on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel to keep up with the latest and greatest.

Post-Game Thoughts

The decks were sweet this week! I was most suprised and impressed by Mistform Ultimus; I've never seen "Everything Tribal" before and now I definitely want to play it!

Lots of punts this game too unfortunately. I was a turn behind because I didn't play a tapland turn 2, then I tutored up Blade of Selves instead of Loxodon Warhammer, and finally I didn't swing for lethal at Tom when I should've. I basically gave Tom two extra turns to kill me, which Xenagos, God of Revels can easily do. At least it worked out in the end and hopefully you all enjoyed the game overall!

Submit Your Decks!

Next week we're celebrating the 100th episode of Commander Clash by replaying the exact same decks we played in the very first episode! The week after, however, will be Viewer Submitted Deck and submissions are open now! Link us a deck list that you'd like us to play in the comments section below. A couple submission guidelines to help your chances of being selected:

  • Keep decks around ~25 tickets, our usual deck budget. Create the deck through MTG Goldfish and the Online Price is the ticket price. We don't mind if you go over-budget for janky cards that are oddly expensive online or are integral for your deck to function, but we want to avoid decks that are running the full set of fetchlands + all the dual lands when it's not necessary.
  • Have a decent ratio of mana (lands + ramp), interaction, card draw, etc. I've skipped over many sweet deck ideas that were filled with sweet thematic cards but left no room for basic deck needs.

That's about it! I'm excited to see what you guys and gals submit to us this time!
