Commander Clash S2 Episode 13: Kamigawa Block

Hello and welcome to Commander Clash, a video series where several MTGGoldfish contributors battle in a four player Commander game for fun and bragging rights. This week we're delivering on one of the most requested themes by building decks around the legendary creatures from the Kamigawa block. Here's what we came up with:

Two Mono Black decks focused on murdering creatures! Can you guess how this game turned out? Let's see if you're right! But first, quick reminder: if you like Commander Clash and other video content here on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel to keep up with the latest and greatest.

Seth's Deck (Horobi)

Richard's Deck (Hidetsugu)

Tom's Deck (Seshiro)

Tomer's Deck (Toshiro)

Post-Game Thoughts

I'm a fan of Snake Tribal myself, so it was cool seeing Tom play around with Seshiro the Anointed. I've never seen Horobi, Death's Wail in action before, which was a treat. As for my own deck, I've always been a fan of the Spellslinger archetype and Toshiro Umezawa is something I've never played before. It was neat and encouraged me to play with a bunch of cards I've never tried out in other decks, like Word of Command. Overall it does seem weaker than the other (Blue) Spellslinger options just because Mono Black Spellslinger struggles to deal with certain threats, being especially low on countermagic and enchantment/artifact removal. But the deck is cheap and certainly unique which will appeal to some folks.

Next Up: Random Theme!

Did you know that the Gatherer search engine has a "Random Card" generator? Well, now you do! We clicked on it and are building decks around the first card result we get. Here's what we got:

Tomer: Geist-Honored Monk
Richard: Gift of Orzhova
Tom: Shatter
Seth: Covenant of Blood

Can you guess what type of deck we built around our cards? As always, we love to hear from you guys! Tell us what you like to see, what you don't like, any ideas that we can put forward for future videos, or anything else you'd like to tell us! You can reach us in the comments section below or tweet me @BudgetCommander.

Single Scoop: How Bad is Red Without Monstrous Rage?

Its kind of a hot topic about if red can go on without Monstrous Rage or not. Lets take a look at how the aggro deck would fair without their absurdly busted combat trick.
