Commander Clash S10 E3: $50 Budget Brews | Orvar vs. Toski vs. Miara & Numa vs. Esior & Radiant
$50 And a Dream
Today the crew steps into my wheelhouse: each of us are building decks with a $50 budget! This budget restriction means a lot of our usual Commander staples are now off the table and we'll need to find alternatives! Here's what we came up with:
- Crim taps into his favorite color, Green, with an Elfball deck led by partners Miara, Thorn of the Glade & Numa, Joraga Chieftain
- Richard soars towards victory with a decidedly jank take on Bird Tribal led by partners Esior, Wardwing Familiar & Radiant, Serra Archangel
- Seth gets aggressive to draw some cards, flooding the board with small creatures led by Toski, Bearer of Secrets
- Tomer copies all his permanents for value with Orvar, the All-Form
Can the crew make functional decks with only $50? Find out now on Commander Clash! But first, a quick reminder: if you like Commander Clash and other video content here on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel to keep up with the latest and greatest.

New Season House Bans
In addition to the official Commander ban list, we have a collection of house bans. This list changes with each season. For Season 10 we started with a clean slate and banned cards based on three loose criteria:
- Cards that were played too much last season.
- Cards that regularly caused games to revolve around them.
- Cards that are far out of the budget of the average viewer.
With this in mind, here is our new ban list for Season 10:
- Rhystic Study
- Mystic Remora
- Notion Thief
- Narset, Parter of Veils
- Hullbreacher
- Gaea's Cradle
- Mana Crypt
- Strip Mine
- MLD / Mass Mana Denial like Blood Moon
- Smothering Tithe
- Teferi's Protection
- Dockside Extortionist
- Necropotence
- Survival of the Fittest
So this is a major shakeup to our ban list. A lot of Commander Clash staples like Smothering Tithe, Rhystic Study, and Dockside Extortionist are out, and there no longer will be the threat of Notion Thief + Windfalls that dominated conversations.
However, there are some notable unbans: expensive cards like Wheel of Fortune are now allowed (for now). Plus for the first time in a long time, fast mana like Sol Ring is back on the table!
Our house bans are meant to encourage more entertaining games for you, the viewers, so let us know what you think of the new ban list! We'll be following all the feedback from the early episodes to see how you all are enjoying it.
