Budget Magic: $88 Ensoul Artifact (Pioneer)

Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Budget Magic. As we wait for Modern Horizons 3 to drop, today we're heading to Pioneer/Explorer to revisit a classic budget archetype: Ensoul Artifact! We actually played Ensoul Artifact back in 2020, but so much has changed in the past four years that our deck today only has two cards in common with the original in Ensoul Artifact itself and Shrapnel Blast! The plan of the deck, though, is the same: stick Ensoul Artifact on an artifact (hopefully on turn two), beat down with the 5/5 and then close the game with a huge burst of damage from a Shrapnel Blast or two! How good is Ensoul Artifact in 2024? What new additions had the deck gotten in the past four years? Let's get into the games and find out!

Single Scoop: You Don't Need to Build Around Ugin At All

Ugin might read like in a way to where you'd load your deck up with a bunch of random colorless spells but Ugin might just be good on his own! This Golgari Ramp shell will test that.
