Adventures in the Forgotten Realms Removal List
This is a list of all the removal in Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, divided into permanent creature removal, temporary creature removal (such as bounce, tap, and falter effects), non-creature removal, and off-battlefield removal (hand, stack, and graveyard).
- Manticore and True Polymorph are listed under Permanent Creature Removal even though they don't kill anything on their own since they can often be played after combat to kill a creature that has attacked or blocked. Eccentric Apprentice and Green Dragon are not listed in that category since their effect is known before combat, so your opponent can play around them.
- Acererak the Archlich is not listed under Permanent Creature Removal since your opponent can choose to not sacrifice a creature and let you have a 2/2 Zombie instead.
- Inferno of the Star Mounts is not listed as Permanent Creature Removal because it's very unlikely that you'll ever trigger that ability. On the very rare instance that you have fourteen red mana, the damage will almost always be aimed at your opponent.
- Paladin Class is not listed under Off-Battlefield Removal since your opponent can choose to play most of the spells on their own turn (with some exceptions, like counterspells) if they can't pay the additional mana.
- The Deck of Many Things can remove a creature card from an opponent's graveyard, but that only occurs 5% of the time you activate its ability. And when it does, your opponent is worried about a lot more than cards being removed from their graveyard, so I didn't list it under Off-Battlefield Removal.
- As usual, I'm not listing Planeswalker removal since there are only five Planeswalkers in the set, all at Mythic, so it will rarely come up in Limited.
- I've not listed any dungeon cards as removal since all players have access to them if they're able to venture into a dungeon. However, some rooms do have abilities that can serve as removal (the Twisted Caverns room in Dungeon of the Mad Mage, and the Veils of Fear and Sandfall Cell rooms in Tomb of Annihilation if your opponent's life total is low enough).
