Deck Primer / Description
EVERYTHING DO A STOMP. I could really leave the description at that, but I’ll elaborate for your sake. The name of the game here is ramp, drop stompers, put all the counters on them and then proceed to beat your opponent about the head and face until they stop twitching. Vori is all about making a gigantic board state, while making sure anyone with a counter focused strategy has a big sad. Your main work horses are your hydra’s, which you can dump on the board with double counters should you have Vori in play. Also, we have a few planeswalkers with powerful emblems in here, which we can trigger instantly with Vori on the field. Look man, it’s mono green stompy, it’s not exactly the hardest thing in the world to explain right? Just go stomp your opponents’ teeth in will ya?
I will explain the stars of the 99 though:
Defiler of Vigor: The Defiler’s are nuts, and this one gives our strategy a big ole kick in the butt. Gives our permeant’s phyrexian mana AND dumps +1/+1 counters on the field when we play a permeant. With Vori on the field that’s two counters every time we cast a permeant.
Kodama of the West Tree: The ramp effect is great, but what we’re really after is the fact that he gives trample to our modified creatures.
Mowu, Loyal Companion: Mowu has an innate counter doubling ability, so when paired with Vori, he gets THREE TIMES the counters. So, our good boi here can get HUGE in a hurry.
Evolution Sage: We have tons of ramp, which means Evo’s going to trigger a ton.
Rampaging Brontodon: We’re going to have a ton of lands in play, so Bronto can get one hell of a stomp in.
Garruk, Unleashed: His emblem can net us one of our key stompers, and we can get his emblem right on cast with Vori on the field.
Silverback Elder: Mhmm, MONKE. He can help us ramp, as well as take out problem artifacts and enchantments.
Monster Manuel: Let’s us dump one of our big stompers on the board for 2 mana.
