Deck Primer / Description

LET’S YEE SOME HAW’S PARDNAH!
That’s right, it’s cowboy time pardnah, time to sling some spells, draw some cards and make some plots.
This is a pure spell slinger deck that’s designed on abusing really powerful instants/sorceries and drawing a SHIT TON of cards. Seriously, this deck draws cards like crazy and you can hit hand size pretty easily, (Which is why we run cards that take our hand limit away.) and can generate serious card advantage. It’s really hard to come back from your opponent drawing six cards for free (No seriously, that can happen and it can happen frequently.) and especially when you can ping the absolute shit out of them with spells that can go straight for the face. We also run a ton of copy spells which allow us to get even more use out of our various instants and sorceries. What’s great is that they’re all multicolor (which Lilah needs to use her copy ability) so we can use them to copy another spell FOR FREE!
The goal here is get our commander out, play a lot of multicolor instants and sorceries, plot them to play for later, copy them with our various copy spells and then cause as much damage and draw as many cards as humanly possible until opponent is very dead. This thing snowballs out of control very easily and we can get there fairly quickly.

Now for the stars of the 99:

Ill-Timed Explosion: This is an absolutely devastating card when paired with our commander, because it basically becomes a reusable board wipe and the second cast is free. Not to mention a loot 4 when you cast it twice. I’ve caused people to scoop because of this card and the way it generates such a devastating advantage.

Hypothesizzle: A devastating kill spell that can get ride of problem critters and can draw us four cards when used twice.

Channeled Force: A hand cycler with heavy damage tacked on.

Practical Research: It draws 8 cards when you use it off of Lilah, Nuff said.

Talrand, Sky Summoner: We’re slinging spells like no tomorrow, so he gives us plenty of flyers to up the damage output.

Gandalf the Grey: Gives us a free spell copy and can do some damage to the face.

Kaza, Roil Chaser: We run a fair amount of wizards in this deck, so he can allow us to get a heavy discount on our higher cost spells.

Melek, Reforged Researcher: Melek gives us a steep discount on our first instant or sorcery each turn and can get absolutely HUGE once you’ve used your plotted spells.

Niv-Mizzet, Parun: If you’re running a spell slinger deck, you’re running Niv, end of story

Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant: Copies our instants and sorceries while countering the first one played by opponent. Nuff said.
