Commander Clash S4 Episode 6: Movie Night

Hello and welcome to Commander Clash, a video series where several MTGGoldfish contributors battle in a four player Commander game for fun and bragging rights. This week is Movie Night, where each of us build a flavorful deck based on a movie we love! Let's see what we've got:

  • Tom showcases the struggles between humans and spirits with a Princess Mononoke deck led by the Forest Spirit aka Marath, Will of the Wild
  • Jennifer gets down to business to defeat the Goldfish crew with Mulan deck championed by Mulan aka Alesha, Who Smiles at Death
  • Richard just can't wait to be king with a Lion King deck led by Gahiji, Honored One
  • Tomer brings the apocalypse to his opponents with a Mad Max headed by Furiosa aka Saskia the Unyielding

For those of you who haven't seen these amazing movies, there will be spoilers in this video, but really all these movies are great so you should go watch them! And as usual, another quick reminder: if you like Commander Clash and other video content here on MTGGoldfish, make sure to subscribe to the MTGGoldfish Youtube Channel to keep up with the latest and greatest.

Post-Game Thoughts

Movie Night is awesome! I love making flavor-first decks and there's no end of great movies I'm excited to build around. As for the game itself, I'm happy with my deck's build and performance, though I must give credit to my blood bag aka Skullclamp for the win; had I not drawn an absurd amount of cards off it, the game would've likely played a lot differently.

My favorite flavor-win of the game was assembling Timon and Pumba aka Karoo Meerkat and Warthog. All the decks were fantastic though.

Next Week: Iconic Masters!

We're celebrating the release of Iconic Masters by building decks around the legendary creatures reprinted in the set. I'll be gone on vacation for the next two weeks so Seth will yet again return to take my spot for those games. As always, we love to hear from you guys! Tell us what you think of the games and suggestions on themes or anything else you'd like to see in future videos. You can email me at tomer@mtggoldfish.com or tweet me @BudgetCommander .
